About Me

Icebreaker: Two Truths and a Lie
1. I grew up in Indonesia.
2. I'm a rock climbing nut.
3. I'm able to communicate with whales.
Let's work together and I'll tell you which one's the lie.

Left: Who needs a headshot when you can use an illustration your roommate made of you in college.

Me writing about Me

I love to make images that move. Some people call them films. Others videos. Others commercials, spots or content. Whatever you like to call it, I like to make it.

I love working on commercial projects: collaborating with people, working on creative ideas that are a little out there, the hustle of a day on set, and then watching all the parts somehow come together.

I graduated with a degree in political science so of course fell into filmmaking. I've been doing it for 20-ish years now and learned the tricks of the trade from being on set and doing whatever needed to be done.

Now I work with agencies, brands, and production companies directing and producing content for a wide variety of platforms including TV, OTT, OLV, etc. (more acronyms to come)

I’ve won a Telly Gold, Ad Fed Gold, and Adrian award for some of my commercial work. And I’ve had my narrative work played at film festivals. Also I have a children’s book out. Buy it here to make my publisher happy.

Currently, I live in Chicago and have a bunch of kids (any interested toy brands out there?)

That’s it. I’d love to work with you! So drop me a line at this email: andrew.s.freer@gmail.com
